Design and Business Strategy

(Week 1-2)


Executive summary.

Executive summary is one important section of a business plan. It simplifies all about the venture or company that is being started.

First of all, for the module Design and Business Strategy, me and my partner Mohd Hatmi Saini planned to start a new venture as requirement stated in the assignment brief. So, the business that we are interested to start is a Interior Design venture that offer interior space designing and planning for all type of interiors such as office, home, restaurants, educational institutes, shop and etc.. Such an idea were selected due to our field of study and what we are good at.


As the venture selected for the business, we named our company De-Zigners. The name De-Zigners were selected because to specialise ourself by telling others of who we are. It is also related to the service that is to be started by the company.

Location                     : Mantin, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan

            De-Zigners is a venture that will surely offer good and comprehensive interior design services for home, offices and restaurants. This venture is planned to be operational in Mantin, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. De-Zigners designs things like both antique and modern furniture, decorative accessories for all type of interior depending on space available. Services that is personalised are also offered by this venture regarding to the market desiring target and will be affordable. This venture of design are collaborated with several construction ventures such as carpentry, tiling, painting and etc. Clearly describing that De-Zigners provide services of designing only. Although, De-Zigners are linked with other builders or construction companies to make ease for clients on installation of the interior design by De-Zigners.
            In a town of under major developments especially focused on houses and shop lots, De-Zigners can be an effective and highly valued venture due to the needs of the lifestyle now in Mantin. Besides, De-Zigners will be the first interior designing venture to be operational in Mantin. Other than that, population in this particular growing town demands for a greater interior design of their accommodation, offices and public places such as restaurants as well. Finalised interior outcome of this venture will reach exact requirement of clients.
            The approach of promoting this Imaginative De-Signers venture is through establishing certain relationship with highlighted people in a huge key of community. Besides, the other partnership ventures is a key of marketing and introducing De-Zigners to their clients.  This will allow De-Zigners to divide the profit for the company recommended with an agreeable share percentage. Then this will go on continuously through referral activities once a significant client base is established.  This De-Zigners venture will concern on providing best services by focusing on client’s budget, need, taste and fill of space in order to keep developing loyal and concrete client relationship. The additional selection, performance, product accessibility, services in designing and the pricing which value based will differentiate De-Zigners with other options in the neighbouring states."
