Reflection

At the end of this module and all of its tasks, I get to know that ADOBE  Flash is not as easy as i thought. But, even though it seems to be very complicated, it might need more time to be understood. Besides, it has many coordination settings to be done. The coordination might get wrong if it is not well understood. The Flash software is a software where needs more time for understanding it very well. Other than that, in this semester, Multimedia Design New Technologies module helped me to know and reveal my real talent in Painting. Therefore, this skills were also included in the web interface as well. According to learning Outcome, the proper methods of research involves multimedia was one advantage for me to inspire me to work on Flash. There is dissatisfaction of my work, but would like to explore more and more in the Flash software.

Web Structuring

As planned in this module, the advertising campaign subject matter of my project is Buncho Water colour. For the advertising, Flash were used and my selection to do in Adobe Flash is the web interface. In the previous semester, we work on an online website maker. For this semester, Flash was introduced. Even though its newly introduced, it is an opportunity to learn a new multimedia software. 

After having all my paintings, 2d Graphical icons and supportive information of Buncho, i started making web interface by referring some online tutorial and some guidelines from peers and Module leader. 

This is my progress of creating web interface in Flash. In Flash action script 3.0, i started to select layer one and paste my background in it. After that since the Buncho bird logo and the buncho colour box is not animated, I placed that into layer one too. On a new layer, imported file which is the Buncho typeface were placed. This file was placed in a new layer because, it is planned to be animated (text blur).

Then, for the button of the pages, i added the splash shape into a new layer because it has to converted to Button as well as the text that is on the splash. This will allow the me to change coordinate the text as buttons later on.

After placing and coordinating all the important layers, by pressing  CTRL+ ENTER it will show the swf form on screen but it doesn't means that it is saved.

Progress

At the beginning of the progress, the background were planned to be painted with many colour applied on the layout. Unfortunately, the colours did not match and too many strokes in it.

The first painting for the background:

This painting was the first painting that to be used for background of my website, but it is not suitable because too many strokes and mess.

The second painting for the background:

This painting was the second one for my background. But this painting is high in contrast, so it doesn't fit the background.

The third (final) painting for the background:

This is the final painting of my background for the website. It is perfect because it has balanced colour applied on the paper.

Progress

Content of the website is the most important element.  As Buncho is the brand selected, colour is the main thing is reflected. Instead of just colour, the content of my website will be shown with different type of paintings, methods and medium of painting and materials that is used. Paintings for the website are not plagiarised, and it is painted by myself using Buncho colours. Below are the paintings and the description of the artwork.

1)The first painting that i started to paint is Tea Cup (Cubism Art). The medium for this art is wet on dry and it is painted on a normal drawing paper. The primary layer were painted with dry colours which is not apllied on water. Second layers which is the tones are wet layers.

2) The second painting called Varna Petals. Varna in Sanskrit means colour or paint. The painting is Wet on Wet on water colour paper and it is about confused petals with no directions but only tones in life.

 3) Next is Dry on Dry, for dry on dry, the image that i used is the Iron Man helmet. The reason of the use of Iron Man Helmet is to apply the colour exactly following the outline of the drawing.

After finishing this painting progress, I realised that I can still improve my painting skills. Other than that, the Buncho colour is really suitable to be applied on any type of materials that can be used for drawing and painting.

Progress

As planned for my interface, I started to illustrate the splash shape in Adobe Illustrator. This splash icon will be the button icon for my web. The reason of splash shape for the button is because to represent the water splash or a drop of colour on top of the page. This is the progress of making the splash and other icon which is to be placed in my website.

This splash shape was firstly drawn on a sheet of paper, then it was scanned and pasted into the illustrator for tracing and filling colour in it.

Additional small splashes was added and placed to make it much bigger and to be more realistic.

Next, moving on to the next step is to make buttons that will be placed for the medium and the quality of the painting. Same process were used for this as used for the splash button.

After that, all the files were saved into Jpeg and Png format. Saving it into such a format will be easier to be attached in the Flash.

Other than this, paintings and medium works are left for the Website Construction. The advertising campaign of Buncho will be presented with paintings, methods and medium of painting and materials that is used.

Concept Board

After finalising my concept Board, I decided to that my background lay out can be adapted as how my concept board look like. Hence, techniques of paintings are also to be concern in my website. There are 3 types of Medium can suitable for the Buncho Water colour. The Mediums are 'Wet on wet', 'Wet on dry' and 'Dry and Dry'. Concept board

Concept board is a start up or conceptual ideation of what we are about to do. It can be manipulated or adapted from difference resources or can be designed with interpersonal skills. For this task of promoting a brand in the Multimedia Design New Technologies module, Buncho Water Colour is my subject brand. So i have a concept of using paintings with different effects and tones to be the interface basic.

At the beginning, I started to see images in Google based on painting with tones and different effects, few selected images was taken to fit it into my concept board.

Starting the concept board in the Adobe Illustrator, i used the images to just fit in place to get what i wanted.

These are the work flow of designing the concept board for my Web lay out. The concept board is to be a start up idea for my website. This will allow me to get more inspired with sample paintings works that can help me to explore more about the lay out.

Ideation Of Website

After deciding to make a Web Interface (Website) in Flash, my idea to promote Buncho Water Colour is through Colour conceptualised Web. To make such a web interface, I planned to make some interesting interface icons. Those icons are to be made in the Adobe Illustrator.

Firstly, these are the sketches of initial ideas and the development.

My webpage is planned to be like this is because the subject matter that i have chosen. The first sketch is a rough sketches and the description of my web interface.

After some adding on the concept, water splatter shapes, and colour stationery/ tools were planned to be added into the interface.

Concept

After identifying the topic of my advertising campaign, the concept that I would like to use is to use website page to advertise about this particular product and its brand. The reason of website as selection is to fit in the context (details of the product + the quality of it), other than that, website building involves multimedia technology which is basically the learning outcome of this module. 

As requirement, this advertising campaign are supposed to be ran and built in any multimedia application. In this semester, the introduction to Adobe Flash is an opportunity to apply it as the main multimedia tool to build the website.

This development of idea and concept were done in sketches and making notes of how it is suppose to be carried on. This helps for documentation and reference of idea in case if we are lost and confuse in what we are doing. In this module, the ideation is to advertise the water colour of a famous company. Initially, I selected Nikki water colour to be advertised, unfortunately, during exploring and searching details, it was not helpful for me to gain information/data about this brand. It made me to slow down my process of developing ideas for concept. 

By then, a consultation regarding the module with the Module leader held. After that, some changes as Brand happened. It changed from Nikki Water colour to Buncho Water colour.

Website Idea

According to the website selection as a tool to advertise, it is one of the best way of reaching audience and visitors online. This will allow the visitor/ viewer to experience and view the advertisement in multimedia format. Other than that, opportunity for me to develop skills in designing a webpage. Additionally, this semester and for the module of multimedia, introducing a new way of designing a webpage with the help of Adobe flash.

Website is a platform that involves user interface and user interaction that will be used either for measuring the success of the webpage or as a guideline to produce a good webpage. This will help me in future to determine the type of multimedia tool that is appropriate according to subject matter or the topic that is selected.

These are the reference of how could a webpage be much success tool for advertising campaign, and following the author and people who spoke about it.

Advantage of website advertising

....Online advertising, however, is much less expensive and reaches a much more wider audience and will probably give you more profit than traditional advertising. It has a lot of advantages that traditional advertising haven’t even dreamed about. This new form of advertising gives such wide possibilities, that it makes your head spin: video advertising, advertising on social networks, mobile advertising, e-mail advertising, banner advertising, Google Search advertising and a lot more. These are the benefits of online advertising:

1. Less expensive. A main benefit of online advertising is that it has a much affordable price when compared with the traditional advertising costs. On the internet, you can advertise at a way more inexpensive cost for a much wider audience.

Introduction to Flash

In this module of Multimedia Design New Technologies, we are introduced to an application called Flash. Flash is a powerful modelling, animation, effects, and rendering solution that has been used in everything from product design to feature films. It can be used to produce any sort of image imaginable, from an impressionistic painting to highly realistic animation and effects. This software introduces to a general features such as modelling, rendering, and animation in greater depth. Knowledge of the Flash interface is the foundation of everything done in Flash, from creating models to texturing, animating, and final rendering. Flash is a software which full of flexibility, and this customize it in myriad ways.

Conclusion

As a reporting for the basic knowledge for multimedia graphic software which is called Flash, this seems to be interesting and has some complicated level of learning. During practicing, there are more tools and skills to be learnt in Adobe Flash.

These are the practice of Chapter one in this module in using Adobe Flash (screen captures)

This application (Flash) tools are much similar to the tools in the other Softwares in Creative Suite. Some extra featuring were new and seems to be additionally for the animating and ease of process purpose.

Task/ requirement:

Ideation for advertising campaign. 

We are supposed to select a brand and a specific product for the advertising purpose. Then need to develop on the concept of advertising it. In this case, the product selected for the advertising campaign is Buncho water colour.

Buncho is originated from Malaysia. BUNCHO (M) Sdn. Bhd.  was established in 1980 and joint venture with DONG-A PENCIL Co. Ltd. in 1992 has produced all sorts of stationery manufacturing.

There are several package and quantity of colour oil pastel with different quantity of product in each packaging. Other than just about the products, the colour products are affordable to buy at suitable and proper price. This allows all group of people to use these products.
