Think Hard

a). Making your own typography.

1. Art Work(typography)

Difficulties in this task was about maintaining the theme of the font so that it is consistent to see and read. In a another way to say is, its not easy to place shapes and its not easy to maintain shapes because the idea is the same but arrangement of the shapes are very important to display a good font or typo.


2. Idea generating process (sketches) :

As a reason of why i selected shapes such as rectangle and triangle is due to the basement which is totally balanced and stable. Besides, modification of shapes brought me up to an idea in making typography and its much interesting to work on shapes. In short, i believe that shapes are one of the best elements for alphabets. References for this art work is not from the internet or any other resource, it is from underage kid's toys. Toys for under age children is usually based on shapes and learning.For A-Z, its about learning so shapes helped me to form typography in such a design.

b). Use an image by using the typo that you have done to represent yourself.

I selected a KEY for SUCCESS is because a key is a symbol of success and everybody has a key of success in their life. As me myself, i believe that hard work is the key of success,so i would go through as many as hard ways to be a successful person.  

Reflection :

Typography is one the visual communication method. In designing a font, it’s important to see the function in attraction and creativity. Designing fonts are interesting and challenging but the main is the concept in designing and maintaining the concept from A to Z. Creating font was to explore exact measurement of font which to be perfect in shape and size.

DIGITAL DESIGN

Task 1

Create a Poster about a movie that you have watched. The pster should be 12"x18" (vertical). 

TRANSFORMERS 3 : DARK OF THE MOON

Sinopsis :

Sam Witwicky and the Autobots found that Government hides some official secrets of the Dark Side of Moon. Sentinel Prime (Autobot) found in the Dark Side of Moon with some tele portal pillars. Sentinel Prime (Autobot) were brought to earth. A betray to the Autobots and The US Government by Sentinel Prime (Autobot) with deal with Megatron (Decepticon) to bring Cybertron to earth. Extinction of human increase by the rule of Decepticons. The Autobots and NEST (a group of US ARMY) fight to get back earth from Decepticons.

I have selected to make a poster of the movie Transformer 3 : DARK OF THE MOON

The reason why i have selected the movie Transformers  3 : DARK OF THE MOON is because the graphics and the perfect animation of the movie attracted me so much. Besides , the movie flow was really exciting and interesting. This movie by Michael Bay was a terrific screen play movie and its a blockbuster movie. Most of the features in this movie brings every meaning of this movie.

Idea generating process:

 These are my imagination sketches of Cybertron which appears in this movie. An eye of the robot is to generalize the poster that it is about the robot but a better idea was to place the Logo Of Autobots and Decepticons instead of placing the full title (Transformers). As the slogan of the movie (DARK OF THE MOON) i have placed a dark moon to represent the dark side of the moon. This is due to the story that says there are a part of the moon which is dark and there are some mysterious robots activity is going on. All this facts of story had brought me to make such a poster.

Reflection :

In making a poster, idea and the concept is important as the message as well. In this minimalized poster, the main theme of the movie selected is the important element to be displayed in the poster. In this process, I’ve learnt on how to arrange elements of images by picking suitable thumbnails for the selected movie and theme.

Reflection :

I see that each webpage has different ways in paging their description of their business. Bright background is the best way to highlight features in webpage.

At the end of this Presentation, i found that Methods of Investigation is one the main point that need to be considered before carrying an experimentation or an investigation. Methods are important in every task to make sure that we are going on a correct track.

Review of preparation required by students to organize access to following resources (understanding of student about the requirments) :

Digital resources :
Computer,internet,software,printer,digital camera

-Computer is essential for the application of certain task by using softwares such as Creative Suite which contains : A.Illustrator, A.Premier, In Design ,etc
-Digital camera is for the use of capturing proves or presentation and to explore images.
-Print works are required to present works in paper and as references.

Analogue resources :
Workspaces, materials ,graphic tool box.
-suitable and tidy workplace to ensure that safety comes first in the working area.
-complete materials such as paper,scissors,knife,ruler,pens,pencils, markers, etc. is required in certain time.
-Graphic tool box is to carry equipment safely and to practice having things according to discipline.

Critical Thinking

Instruction :
Find 2 objects each and draw a picture which the object should complete the picture.

Objects that i found :

1. Tin spray

 Gun

The spray paint is represented as a gun because to say that the aerosol paint is very harmful for health and to say that it might kill.

 Rocket

A rocket usually emits so much element of carbon dioxide, so as the spray paint as the rocket is to show that the rocket and the spray paint has similarities in emitting Carbon Dioxide Gas.

 Paint Roller

A spray paint's intention is to paint, and when it is used as a paint roller,the similarities here is the function of it in both view.

 Candle

Candle shows that its a symbol of awareness, here for this, candle is to show the awareness and the sensitivity of the spray paint which contains a lot of chemical.

Bullet

A bullet is very poisonous man made object. Same as the spray paint too which contains so much chemicals in it. It shows that it is so harmful and dangerous to health.

2. Stone

 Face (cartoon character)

The stone is a hard element from nature, this relates to the cartoon character as a villain who always looks so arrogant and full of anger. and the villains can be called the stone hearted people. 

  Rabbit Head

 A stone is a fossil and rabbit lives in ground, here the relation of the rabbit and the stone is to show the place were we can see those nature element together on ground.

Clown

usually a clown humiliates himself to make others laugh and enjoy, Here the stone on his face as a nose is to show the humiliations that he go through in his life for somebody else.

Bomb (TNT)

A stone might cause severe damages when we threw it towards somebody,here the stone as a bomb is to tell that a stone might cause injury.

Shovel

in the stone age, people lived by cutting things and digging holes by only the use of use. here , Aa  stone as a shovel seems to dig the sand as in time before civilisation.

Reflection :

What i get from this task is how to emerge our brain to think quickly to form something with things that we have. Some waste object might help to improve creativity in ourselves. A designer should see everything as an advantage.
