Tutorial of Adobe Illustrator on how to copy/trace pictures or any symbol.

After a clear tutorial of Adobe Illustrator on tracing images a task were given.

Task : Using Adobe Illustrator, we are required to make a logo by referring to the sample logo.

Logo selected : Starbucks Coffee

First of all, i downloaded an image of Starbucks Coffee's logo from the internet. Then place it on the Ai software. I make grids to make sure that the logo that i am about to do should be perfect in shape and size with the original one.

After making grid lines, i make circle shape by using the ellipse tool ,which is same in size with the logo circular shape.

Then, according to step by step i copy all the parts of the original image by using so many tools in Adobe Illustrator. These are the flow of making the logo of Starbucks Coffee :

The mostly used tool in this task was the Pen tool. It was used to trace the image of a lady at the middle of the logo.Then, for the typography, Type tool were used and the real of Starbucks is Gibson Bold. Since Gibson Bold font are not available for downloading, so Mr. Kamarul suggested the font Myriad Pro which is slightly similar with Gibson Bold.

At the end of task this was the outcome :

The Starbucks logo at the left side was my creation and at the right side is the original. Both are not the same,hopefully i can improve my skills in Ai to make a better one. Credits to Mr. Kamarul.

Now i had learnt how to use the tools in Adobe Illustrator.
