Methods of Investigation

Peer Review

Aisyah  : Visual Anthropology and Primary & Secondary Research

  • Visual Anthropology :
-picturing data or analysis without any changes.
  • Primary & Secondary Research :
-primary research is the initial or the research that are new or never done by others.
-secondary research is experimentation on other data and analysis which had done by somebody else.

Alexis  : Formative & Summative Research and Observational Research
  •  Formative & Summative Research :
- formative research is countable, summative is not countable.
  • Observational  Research :
- research through observing by not influencing behaviour subject or carrying  research without interacting with the subject.

Jeffry  : Demographic Research
  • Demographic Research

-research on gender, age, economical status on a specific area of experimentation to solve a problem

  • Qualitative and Quantitative
-Description on what are Qualitative and Quantitative data and how does the analysis in this methods are shown and recorded.

Qualitative and Quantitative                                      Research Methodologies

At the end of this Presentation, i found that Methods of Investigation is one the main point that need to be considered before carrying an experimentation or an investigation. Methods are important in every task to make sure that we are going on a correct track.

Design Studio Conceptualization

Task 1
Power Tools

-Computer is essential for the application of certain task by using softwares such as Creative Suite which contains : A.Illustrator, A.Premier, In Design ,etc
-Digital camera is for the use of capturing proves or presentation and to explore images.
-Print works are required to present works in paper and as references.

Analogue resources :
Workspaces, materials ,graphic tool box.

Critical Thinking

Instruction :
Find 2 objects each and draw a picture which the object should complete the picture.

Objects that i found :

1. a tin spray
2. a stone

1. Tin spray

 Gun

The spray paint is represented as a gun because to say that the aerosol paint is very harmful for health and to say that it might kill.

 Rocket

A rocket usually emits so much element of carbon dioxide, so as the spray paint as the rocket is to show that the rocket and the spray paint has similarities in emitting Carbon Dioxide Gas.

 Paint Roller

spray paint's intention is to paint, and when it is used as a paint roller, the similarities here is the function of it in both view.

 Candle

Candle shows that its a symbol of awareness, here for this, candle is to show the awareness and the sensitivity of the spray paint which contains a lot of chemical.

Bullet

A bullet is very poisonous man made object. Same as the spray paint too which contains so much chemicals in it. It shows that it is so harmful and dangerous to health.

2. Stone

 Face (cartoon character)

The stone is a hard element from nature, this relates to the cartoon character as a villain who always looks so arrogant and full of anger. and the villains can be called the stone hearted people.

  Rabbit Head

A stone is a fossil and rabbit lives in ground, here the relation of the rabbit and the stone is to show the place were we can see those nature element together on ground.

Clown

usually a clown humiliates himself to make others laugh and enjoy, Here the stone on his face as a nose is to show the humiliations that he go through in his life for somebody else.

Bomb (TNT)

A stone might cause severe damages when we threw it towards somebody, here the stone as a bomb is to tell that a stone might cause injury.

Shovel

in the stone age, people lived by cutting things and digging holes by only the use of use. here , Aa  stone as a shovel seems to dig the sand as in time before civilisation.

Reflection :

What i get from this task is how to emerge our brain to think quickly to form something with things that we have. Some waste object might help to improve creativity in ourselves. A designer should see everything as an advantage.
